Utah Jazz, American professional basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah, that plays in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Jazz have won two conference championships (1997 and 1998). Originally based in New Orleans, whose storied music history gave the Jazz its name, the team played its first game in 1974.
